When to use it

Use it to clarify decision-making authority within a team, especially when it is causing friction.

How to apply it
  1. List the recurring decisions the team makes.
  2. Introduce the seven levels: tell, sell, consult, agree, advise, inquire and delegate.
  3. Have each person choose a level for each decision privately.
  4. Reveal choices together and discuss the biggest differences.
  5. Record the agreed level for each decision and review it periodically.
Tip: Aim to move decisions to higher levels of delegation as trust and capability grow.
