When to use it

Use it when structuring a talk, a set of recommendations or key messages.

How to apply it
  1. List every point you want to make.
  2. Merge overlapping points and drop the weakest ones.
  3. Reduce what remains to three main points.
  4. Order them deliberately, usually saving the strongest for last.
  5. Signpost the three points at the start and recap them at the end.
Tip: Do not force three if you genuinely have two; padding weakens the message.
