When to use it

Use it for an intensive, time-bound push to acquire a specific skill, such as a new programming language.

How to apply it
  1. Research how the skill is learned and what experts do (metalearning).
  2. Define a concrete project that uses the skill in a real context.
  3. Learn by doing the project, not by watching tutorials first.
  4. Isolate the weakest components and drill them separately.
  5. Seek frequent, honest feedback and test yourself regularly.
  6. Set a fixed timeframe and schedule focused blocks within it.
Tip: Plan roughly 10% of your total time for researching how to learn before you start.
